Using the service
These terms describe use of the CogoKit website operated by the party identified above. The site currently provides browser tools without requiring an account or a payment. If you use the tools, use them for lawful purposes and only with data you are entitled to process. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass access controls or interfere with another person's use.
The operator may correct, update or withdraw a tool as its implementation and supported scope change. The site does not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular support response time or continued support for every historical file format. Retain copies of records and results needed for your work rather than treating an open browser tab as an archive.
Inputs, assumptions and output review
You are responsible for selecting the intended source, mapping columns, confirming coordinate and height references, choosing units and setting relevant tolerances. Automatic detection is a convenience that needs review. Missing metadata or an unknown elevation cannot be established from a calculation alone. The methodology page and each tool's guide describe the supported methods and limitations.
Review generated data before using it in design, setting out, reporting or another application. For example, compare a converted file with a known point, retain original closure before interpreting an adjustment, and distinguish an incomplete check from one that passed. Tool results do not establish ownership boundaries, certify a survey or approve compliance with project or regulatory requirements.
Availability, errors and responsibility
The tools are provided with the functionality and limits described on their pages. Although calculations and workflows are tested, errors and unsupported cases may occur. No assurance is made that every input will produce a result suitable for your particular purpose. The operator does not assume responsibility for a project's technical decisions solely because a result was calculated here.
Nothing in these terms removes a right or excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be removed or excluded under applicable law. The scope of any obligation depends on the actual circumstances and law that applies; this page does not assign an invented governing jurisdiction or professional status to the operator. Report reproducible errors through the contact page so they can be investigated.
Files, examples and external references
You retain any rights you have in the files and records you bring to the tools. Local processing does not transfer ownership of those inputs to the operator. Public downloadable examples are synthetic learning fixtures; you may use and adapt them for practice and testing, but must not represent them as observations of a real site or authoritative control data.
External documentation and named software products are referenced to explain concepts and compatibility considerations. Their publishers are independent, may change their materials, and do not endorse this service through those references. Your use of third-party applications and websites is governed by their own terms.
Contact and changes
The contact page explains how to prepare a small, reproducible issue report without sharing unnecessary project information. The privacy notice explains local processing and the handling of messages that you choose to send. Material changes to the scope described here should be reflected in the reviewed date and page content. Recheck the relevant tool guide when repeating a workflow after an update.
